2

Forms at home

We send the paperwork ahead so you can fill it in at your own pace, not on a clipboard in the waiting room.

3

An unhurried exam

X-rays, a look at every tooth, a gum check, and time to talk about what matters to you.

4

We explain it clearly

What we found, what we recommend, and why. In plain language, with time for your questions.

We bill your insurance directly and go over what is covered before treatment starts. You will know the cost before we begin.

What happens at your new patient exam

A first visit is mostly looking and listening. Here is what that involves.

A proper look around

We check each tooth for decay, cracks, and wear, and look at existing fillings and crowns to see how they are holding up.

X-rays

Digital X-rays show what is happening between teeth and below the gumline, where problems hide. If you have recent ones, we can often use those instead.

A gum check

We measure the gums around each tooth. It is quick, and it catches gum disease early, when it is still easy to treat.

A conversation

What is bothering you, what you want to fix, and what can wait. Your priorities shape the plan.

What to bring

  • Your dental insurance details, if you have coverage
  • A list of any medications you take
  • Your CDCP member number, if you are enrolled
  • Recent X-rays from a previous dentist, if you have them
  • Any questions you have been meaning to ask

Good to know

  • We see kids, parents, and grandparents, so the whole family can come to one place
  • However long it has been since your last visit, you will get a plan, not a lecture
  • We bill most insurance plans directly, so you are not out of pocket waiting for a refund
  • If something needs treating, we will talk through the options and what each one costs
  • Nothing gets done in the same visit without talking to you about it first

Common questions

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes. Lumino Dental is a family clinic in Langley Township and we are taking new patients of every age, from kids to seniors. Call or book online.

How often should I have a check-up and cleaning?

For most people, every six months. If your gums need closer attention, we will explain why and suggest a schedule that suits you. More on our cleanings and hygiene visits.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book a new patient exam with us directly. If you are switching from another dentist, bring any recent X-rays and we can often use them.

Will I get a cleaning at my first visit?

Sometimes. It depends on what the exam and gum check show. If your gums need more than a standard cleaning, we will explain why and book the right appointment rather than rushing it.

It has been years since I saw a dentist. Is that a problem?

Not at all, and it is more common than you think. We start from where you are and sort out what matters most first. No judgment, no lectures.

Can I bring my kids to the same appointment?

We are a family clinic and we are happy to look after the whole household. Let us know when you book so we can set aside the right amount of time.

What if I do not have insurance?

You are still welcome. We will go over costs before any treatment starts. You may also qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, which covers a lot of everyday dental care.

What if I am in pain right now?

Tell us when you book and we will get you in as soon as we can. Sorting out the pain comes first, and the rest can wait for another day.

Ready when you are.
