Lumino Dental (“we”, “us”) operates this website and provides dental care in Langley, BC. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your information in line with Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

If you are a patient: your name, contact details, date of birth, health and dental history, medications and allergies, clinical records and images such as X-rays, treatment notes, and insurance or billing information.

If you contact us or book online: the details you give us, such as your name, phone number, email address, preferred appointment time, and anything you choose to tell us about your reason for visiting.

If you simply browse this website: standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and the site that referred you. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

Why we collect it

  • To book, confirm, and remind you about appointments
  • To bill you or submit claims to your insurer or a public plan

We collect health information with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time, subject to legal and professional record-keeping requirements.

Online booking and third-party services

Our online booking is provided by ClearDent, our practice management provider. When you book through the booking link on this site, you are taken to their secure portal and the information you enter is handled under their systems and security controls.

We also rely on service providers for website hosting, email, and website analytics. These providers may process limited information on our behalf, and we take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it appropriately.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies to make the site work properly and to help us understand how visitors use it. We may also use advertising and measurement tools, such as those provided by Google, to see how people find our website and whether our ads are working. These tools do not receive your dental or health records.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.

When we share information

  • With other health professionals involved in your care, such as a specialist we refer you to, with your consent

We use physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect your information, including access controls, secure systems, and staff training on confidentiality. Only team members who need your information to do their job can access it.

How long we keep it

We keep dental records for as long as required by the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia and applicable law, and then dispose of them securely.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, ask questions about how we handle it, or withdraw consent for uses that are not legally required. Contact us and we will respond within the timeframes set out in privacy legislation.
